Creepy Scientist

I need some live music to heal my soul.

Wings Musicafe

Wings Musicafe. The place where I discovered great live performance.

This is the place where I discovered the best rendition of Radiohead's Creep & Coldplay's The Scientist that I have come across. I didn't manage to get the name of the performer though.

From time to time, I will still actively recall the moment where I sat with a bunch of friends in front of the stage, enjoying the soothing live performance.

These two songs are in the list of my all-time favourites. The truth is, I actually prefer the performer's version to the original version LOL. Well maybe it was the live effect. Maybe it was the nice atmosphere. Maybe I prefer acoustic version to rock version.

Due to the lack of transportation and busy life, I have not returned to the cafe for more great performance. Still, I will definitely make time to revisit the cafe.

I'm looking forward to the next visit.

I'm looking forward to more pleasant surprises from the live performance.

The aforementioned performer was not in this picture

One heck of a week

I'm exhausted.

Surgery posting in UKMMC was unexpectedly more tiring than internal medicine, despite the smaller patient load. I am starting to miss my life in Hospital Teluk Intan.

On-call for the whole weekend, covering new admissions. Rather eventful actually, with a case of torrential upper and lower GI bleed leading to collapse (patient survived eventually), and a bomb blast incident killing one woman and critically injured a man. Well my role was insignificant, being an observant and space-occupant =).

Also played the role of a houseman and an assistant in the ward, clerking patients and attending patients' needs.

I can't wait for Raya Holidays to come. I really need this break to rest myself after a long week in my comfy home, to be with my family members, to hang out with friends, to complete my write-up and to catch-up on my study.

Tomorrow is another cycle of exhausting week (minus the on-call).
My life will only get busier from here.

Thank You

I admit it.

Life as a medical student is not the most exciting one. Lots of clinical skills to acquire, lots of knowledge to gain. As a result, I will have to sacrifice a certain amount of time on entertainment.

As a resourceful person (haha), I will seek alternatives to bring joy and laughter into my life. One of them - Malaysia's politics and social issues. Reading the comments and opinions by certain parties can make me go LOL and sometimes even LMAO or ROFL.

Due to potential sensitivity of the issues, I will not state my opinion (kiasi). Emoticons will suffice for my expression.

Excerpts from The Star:

"All businesses in the city must fly the state flag on the Perak Ruler’s birthday on April 19 and the Jalur Gemilang on Aug 31 if they want their licences renewed, said Ipoh Mayor Datuk Roshidi Hashim"   ^o^

"Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Tun Hussein : MCA should not forget the struggles of Barisan Nasional when it fought for the Chinese demands"  _|_

"Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak has called for an investigation by the Penang Islamic Religious Council and police on allegations that the name of Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng was cited instead of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong’s during Friday prayers in several mosques in Penang"  :-S

"PERKASA has lodged a police report against MCA president Datuk Seri Dr Chua Soi Lek, accusing him delivering “an irresponsible statement” at an economic forum recently. They claimed that Dr Chua had questioned the equity quota given to bumiputras and suggested that the system should be changed"  +.+

"Sg Petani School Principal told Chinese students they weren't needed in the country and could return to China and that the prayer strings Indian students tied around their necks and wrists were similar to dog leashes" o_o

"PAS is blaming Valentine’s Day and New Year celebrations as among the main causes of baby dumping in the country"  :-( (Wei, I still want my holidays!)

"The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) has been taken to task for posting on its official blog, an entry ridiculing Thai pathologist Dr Pornthip Rojanasunand. The entry, which described her as a fortune-teller, also had a doctored picture of Dr Pornthip dressed as a gypsy and sitting in front of a crystal ball"  XD

Also, funny courtroom drama on TBH inquest.

Who says politics are boring?

A big 'muaks' and thank you for the little amusement you provide for my otherwise boring life.

Of Quota and Ideas

I find myself pretty selfish. I have subscribed to many blogs, and I get to know the feelings, opinions, stands and intimate details in life of bloggers around the world, without actually sharing any. I guess it is time to open up myself to let the world know a little bit more about me. So I am forcing myself to exercise my fingers and brain to write a new post at least once fortnightly.

Sometimes I really don't know what to write in order not to sound lame, but I guess I shouldn't care so much, after all this is my blog and I can write whatever crap I like, can't I? I will just let my emotions and feelings take charge of the course of this blog.

That's all for my rants. More entries coming soon.
